Introduction

Your privacy is really important to Felix, so we’ve created this policy to explain what information the service captures, and how that information is used and stored.

Let’s get started.

The data we collect

To provide you with the Felix service, and to build and improve our offering, we collect some information about you. We do this automatically when you use the app:

The information we collect includes:

• The details you use to create your Felix account: name, email, etc.

• The details you provide when first opening the app: date of birth, gender, height, weight, fitness level, etc.

• Your answers to questionnaires in the Felix app.

• Data captured through your wearable: heart rate, movement, steps, calories burned, etc.

• Information about your use of the app, like screens viewed.

How we use your data

We use some of you data to tailor the app specifically to you. For example, we use your date of birth to calculate your age, and we use the heart rate stream from your wearable to calculate your heart rate, heart rate variability and breathing rate.

Some of your data will be processed to generate company reports. The most important thing to understand here is that no-one will have access to, or see, your individual data, unless you explicitly consent. Even then, you can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting support@felix.inc.

Some reports show only aggregate information, which means they don’t show any data that’s specific to one person, or that allows a person to be identified. Other reports show both aggregate and individual data - but once again, your individual data will only be shown if you’ve given your permission.

We’ll also use your data to build and improve the Felix service and experience. For example, your data helps us build models to classify physiological, emotional and physical states.

We use services like Mailchimp to build and send emails. If you tell us you’re happy to receive emails about Felix, we may share some of your data (like your email address) with Mailchimp. You can read their full privacy policy here.

How we store and process your data

Your data is encrypted when it’s transferred, and when it’s stored. It’s held on secure storage servers in the UK, and processed in the UK.

Data security compliance.

The data is secured in a datacenter that belongs to a third party storage provider who is compliant to ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, HIPAA and the EU Data Protection Directive including EU-US Privacy Shield.

When data is transferred it will be encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) secured with a strong AES 128-bit cipher.
